Raising Kids

Without structure it is nearly impossible to manage a household effectively.  Where there is organization, there is harmony.  Where there is disorganization there is chaos.

The Golden Rules

Rule #1 - Everyone must do their part - The Family Unit is a team and if one fails to meet their responsibility then the family as a whole feels the effects of it.

Rule #2 - Hold Each Other Accountable - Reminders are crucial - Never assume others will complete tasks (especially children).

Rule #3 - Follow Through - Check that the task has been done.  Unfortunately this must be done everyday without ceasing.

Rule #4 - Organize Everything - Keep a family calendar in plain view so that the entire household can see whats on the agenda ahead of time so that there is time for preparation.

Rule #5 - Family Meetings - Check-In often with the family.  Discuss expectations, achievements, shortfalls and general concerns.

Rule #6 - Be Kind - Create a loving environment

Rule #7 - Family Night - Set Aside a day and time for family activities to strengthen the family bond.

Rule #8 - Pray - A Family that prays together, stays together.

Rule #9 - Have Integrity - Mean what you say and say what you mean always. Honesty is always the best policy.

Rule #10 - Respect - Show respect if you want respect.
